Sorby catches the bunch napping at Jurby

Rob Sorby caught the bunch napping with a successful long-distance sprint to win the latest round of the Bikestyle handicap road race league at Jurby last Thursday.

The Island Games road team rider secured a gap and managed to hold on for the win by half-a-bike’s length from Will Draper.

The latter fought off the effects of jet lag to take a valuable second position from hard-charging Ben Christian.

Shellan Leeming was the first woman with a great debut ride alongside the seniors, followed in by Commonwealth Youth Games silver medallist Tara Ferguson (also suffering the effects of a trans-Atlantic flight) and Kate Priest.
